Hey everyone :) I hope you’re all having a great week so far! In my last post I mentioned how, over the summer, dresses are definitely a go-to favorite of mine because they’re so easy to throw on and your outfit is pretty much complete. This dress is one of my favorites because it’s all that and more. The material is light and breathable for the warm weather, and the style of the dress makes it versatile enough to wear both casually or more dressed up. Throw on a white blazer and some nude heels for an easy nighttime look. Today, I wore the dress casually, and added some delicate gold accessories with a studded handbag and sandals. The perfect outfit to spend the afternoon with my sister and nephew :) A special thank you to my sister for letting me borrow this beautiful bag — I’m in love!
Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a great weekend! Today’s post is my casual friday outfit from last week. Typically, when I don’t have to get dressed up, I’m a jeans and tee kind of girl. My weekend wear is pretty relaxed most of the time, although I tend to wear a lot of dresses during the summer because they’re so easy to throw on, and dresses are definitely more comfortable than skinny jeans in the hot weather. As much as I’d love to throw on a pair of boyfriend jeans or distressed jeans on a Friday, it’s not a professional look for an office job. Enter: white denim. Incredibly versatile in that it matches everything, and can easily be dressed up or worn casually, I have a few pairs of white denim that I like to wear on casual Fridays, or other professional events where I want to look nice but not overdressed, or the opposite. Luckily we’re allowed to wear sandals to work as long as they’re not “beach sandals,” so I paired my denim this week with a cute pair of studded leather Sam Edelman sandals (so comfortable!). Since I normally keep things simple, I wanted to switch things up and top off my look (literally) with a really fun geometric print top! I loved the colors of this top, and the olive-green and orange make it wearable through the fall as well!
Remember those Magic Eye books that were so popular 20 years ago or so? I loved those books. I could get a whole stack of those books and just geek out for a few hours. So when I saw the print of this dress, it immediately brought me back. The kaleidoscope print is super fun, and I love the color combination. While I styled this dress casually, you could swap out the denim jacket for a black blazer, and the flat sandals for a pair of heeled sandals, for a night-time look. To top off the dressy look, you could add a bright red nail or lip color!
I hope you’re all having a great week :) Today’s look is a simple, monochrome look with metallic accents. There are so few months in New York that we can get away with wearing an all-white ensemble, and I think there’s something very chic about a single tone look. Wearing one color also allows you to have fun with accessories! While it would have been cute to add a pop of color with a handbag, I decided to wear my everyday A&R bag to blend with the look, and let my heels and sunnies take the stage. Although I added a statement necklace and ring, the classic white pearls and pale sage green remained subtle against the white palette.
