Happy Wednesday, and Happy 1st of October!  Today is the first day of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and therefore I tried to incporporate some pink into my look today with blush tones.  Blush and burgundy complement one another beautifully.  I find this combination of colors to be perfect for transitioning to fall.

Don’t forget to show your support for those fighting and surviving breast cancer by wearing pink this month.  For more information on how you can help, visit the link here.

Spotted the cutest little colorful leaf while taking pictures, and just had to snap a photo to capture how perfect it was :){Grey Leopard} | Plum Pearls{Grey Leopard} | Plum Pearls{Sweater} LOFT (40% off all tops and sweaters right now!) // {Shirt} Express (buy one get one 50% off!) // {Faux Leather Skirt} LOFT // {Heels} Valentino // {Bag} kate spade new york (similar style here) // {Sunnies} Michael Kors // {Watch} Michael Kors // {Lips} NARS ‘Club Mix’ // {Nails} Essie ‘Carry On’

I’m in love with the subtle animal print of this sweater.  The grey on grey keeps the print professional enough to wear for work.  That’s not to say other leopard prints aren’t appropriate, and it really depends on your office setting.  I have also always been a fan of layering varying shades from the same color family to create a dimensional monotone look.  I decided to keep the look neutral so I layered the sweater over a classic button-down (closet staple – you can never have too many) and paired it with a faux leather skirt. I also love this similar style (a non-leather style suitable for any office).  I finished out the look with my favorite studded heels.  I couldn’t resist complementing the playful vibe of this printed sweater with a fun pair of heels :)

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy Monday everyone!  This week’s work wear inspiration incorporates simple and classic styles.  A solid black knee-length dress is a great wardrobe staple as it can be worn for countless occasions.  Having a simple yet sophisticated dress affords you flexibility since it can be styled with various jackets or blazers, worn alone, paired with simple jewelry or statement jewelry, worn with a fun pair of dress sandals, or kept professional with a pair of simple pumps.  I’ve styled this dress today to be office appropriate:  I paired it with a structured, textured tweed jacket to give more dimension to the look.  Now that we’re into the fall season, layering is key.  Tweed is one of those timeless fabrics, and so I complemented this classic staple with other classic styles – a pearl necklace and two-tone t-strap pumps.  The herringbone and patent leather cap toe also create some dimension; this way, if you decide to remove your jacket at some point during the day, your shoes will add that bit of interest since the dress is simple.  To finish off the look I added a lovely blush-colored tote, a pale pink lip, and a nude nail.  Until winter comes around, I like to offset dark pieces with some light-colored hues.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  Here’s to a great week ahead :)

Keeping my post brief today with a simple work look made fun by incorporating color.  Normally if I reach for colored fabrics in the fall it’ll be deep reds, orange, or maybe something in a mustard yellow.  However, lately I’ve been drawn to shades of blue.  I’ve always loved navy, but cobalt and ink-colored blues are out of the ordinary for me.  I bought this skirt last season and couldn’t wait to break it out again.  Tweed is my favorite textured fabric for the fall and winter, and in electric blue?  Love :)
