Happy Friday everyone :) I put this look together as a flat lay on instagram the other day, and I was finally able to take pictures wearing one of my outfits of the day so that you could see it styled. In other words, I finally found a friend brave enough to take my pictures in the freezing cold! The tricky part about blogging isn’t styling warm and comfortable, yet still chic, outfits in the winter. It’s being able to find a partner in crime who’s willing to freeze their butt off for me!! But seriously, this oversized wool turtleneck sweater is my new favorite thing in the world. It’s so comfortable, and it’s perfect for running around on the weekends while keeping you warm. I’m crossing my fingers that they re-stock so I can buy it in the black as well!
I hope you all have a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by :)
Happy Wednesday! Today I’m sharing a few of my instagram flat lay shots with you all so that I could provide links to some of the pieces. As I mentioned in my previous post, this year I’m focusing on basic staples that can be styled various ways. I repeat a lot of these staple items in my flat lay shots and it’s a fun way for me to experiment with the versatility of these pieces – whether they be main clothing items, shoes or accessories. I hope you all enjoy! It’s something different from my typical posts so I appreciate any feedback :) You can also follow me on IG here: @blupeony
As I painfully draw near (we’re talking heels dug in ground) the age of thirty (major cringing going on over here), there is one thing I’m becoming aware of that I’m actually quite looking forward to: knowing who I am and being completely comfortable with it. One of the things I’ve become more sure of is my personal style. For those of you who have followed me for a while, you know I’m not a big fan of color. Sure, I like the occasional pop here and there, but I’ve always gravitated towards unsaturated looks, handbags included. This year I’ve decided I really want to buy less, and buy smarter. I want to add more investment pieces to my wardrobe. I’m beginning to prefer spending a little more on one thing, and having that item be a high-quality and versatile staple. Taking a note from my favorite minimalist architect Mies van der Rohe, “less is more.” So the path to a more minimalist wardrobe begins. A handbag with minimal detail in a neutral color is going to be your best investment since it will pair well with everything and, hopefully, last you many years as both functional and stylish.
I hope you’re all having a wonderful week and thank you for stopping by.
Happy Wednesday everyone! I’m so sorry I haven’t been posting as often as usual. To be honest, the bitter cold temperatures we’ve been experiencing recently – with no signs of letting up – have kept me safely tucked inside. I finally forced myself outside to snap a few photos yesterday and then quickly sought warmth and told myself I need to move out of New York. I hope you’re all having a great week! Thanks for stopping by :)
