It’s back to my favorite fall color combination. Whether it’s black and camel or black and cognac, they complement each other so well, and the warm brown in a perfect hue for fall. This cognac leather jacket has quickly become my favorite and will most likely remain so for the fall season. Only when I’m forced to break out my heavy winter coats will I willingly give up wearing this lovely jacket. All black everything has been my fashion motto for most of my adult life. It’s definitely what I’m most comfortable in. However, I added a pop of print with my favorite leopard pumps to add some fun to the overall look :)
Do you ever find a piece of clothing you end up loving so much that you contemplate buying it in every color, or maybe even the same color as a back-up in case you wear it to death, or God forbid something should happen to it? I bought this sweater a couple of weeks ago, and since then have worn it more times than I can count. It is the softest, most comfortable knit sweater ever. Perhaps that’s a bit dramatic…but it’s been a while since I’ve found a sweater like this. I sized up for more of a boyfriend fit. It’s beginning to feel like fall here in New York with a cool breeze in the air, and I for one am so excited. Fall offers me the perfect excuse to cuddle up in soft, oversized fabrics; and, to lay in bed in the morning with a hot cup of tea and catch up on my favorite blogs. I love layering, and this cozy Monrow dress and Express cardigan is my new favorite combination. Plus, I was finally able to pull out these gorgeous open-toe booties — a must-have style for this fall season :)
Happy Monday! Lately I’ve found myself gravitating towards blue and grey hues, particularly navy and pale shades of grey. I’m still all about floral prints, so the combination of neutrals and pop of blue in this Eight Sixty midi skirt really caught my eye. A printed skirt would definitely add a little punch to my otherwise mostly solid, minimally patterned work wardrobe. I’ve always been a fan of prints, I just tend to buy simpler pieces as they’re more versatile and timeless. I do think this skirt, however, is a versatile piece as it can be worn not only for work, but also casually with a simple tee and leather jacket on the weekends, or with sleek black stilettos and a black blouse for date night. For this office look, I paired the skirt with a feminine ivory blouse, simple suede pumps, and a gorgeous navy suede tote. I added a delicate statement necklace and subtle pink lip color to finish off the look :)
Today’s look is my second installment for styling a simple white tee. While the first look was more office appropriate, today’s look is perfect for a night out with friends for drinks or dinner. Pairing a white tee with boyfriend jeans keeps the look casual and relaxed, while adding metallic heels and a softly textured jacket adds sophistication and pulls the look together.
