Happy Wednesday!  With Thanksgiving tomorrow (I can’t believe it’s already tomorrow!), I wanted to begin styling a few holiday looks mixed in over the next few weeks to create some inspiration for upcoming family gatherings, dinner parties, or holiday parties for work. Today’s look is simple without any added accessories, allowing this beautiful Jacquard skirt to steal the show.  This black turtleneck has always been my go-to top to pair with festive looks because it’s chic and sophisticated simplicity allows you to pair it with statement pieces or accessories without competing with them.  You could easily take this look to the next level with a bold lip, side swept hair and a pair of elegant statement earrings.

I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday tomorrow!  Thanks so much for reading :)

On a cool and damp late afternoon, my Hunters and some patterned layers seemed perfectly appropriate.  I enjoy mixing prints, and the varying stripes of this sweater were a perfect complement to the small herringbone print of this quilted vest.  For my top layer, I added a punch of color to add contrast to this otherwise monochrome look.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

{Currently Coveting} Cold Weather Essentials

Cold Weather Essentials{Knit} // {Gloves} // {Candle} // {Hat} // {Scarf} // {Boots}

In preparation for the winter ahead, I’ve put together a collage of cold weather essentials that have been on my winter wish list.

An oversized, cozy turtleneck sweater is a necessity and I love all three colors that are available!  However, I always default to black since it coordinates so well with everything and the color allows this style to be worn casually or dressy without much effort.  Second, a pair of leather gloves is something I’ve been saying I’m going to invest in every winter….and then I never do.  I spotted this style, and just love the zipper details and the quilted texture; so, I may finally get to cross this off my list of items that I find myself hunting for annually.  Third, a warmly scented candle for your home. Once I move, I can’t wait to get all of my holiday decorations up.  I love cozying up with a good book and sitting in front of my Christmas tree with a candle lit.  It’s so relaxing and always seems to feel warmer in the room with the gentle glow of a candle.  I tried on this textured black-and-white beanie in the store and fell in love!  The pom-pom adds a really fun element.  Buffalo plaid prints are a necessity for your fall/winter wardrobe!  These red and black checks have such a history, making it a timeless print well worth having one or two (or more!) pieces.  Lastly, these Sorel boots were on my wish list last year, but they sold out everywhere in my size before I had a chance to grab a pair.  I have several pairs of Sorel boots and I have to say – hands down – they are my favorite winter boots to wear in the freezing cold temps. They’ve never failed to keep my feet warm or dry.

I hope you all had a great weekend, and thanks for stopping by!

A crisp but sunny fall day offered the perfect setting to stop and snap some photos by the Capitol building downtown last weekend. I love the architecture of this historical landmark.  Although I’ve driven past it countless times, I’ll never take its beauty for granted.  I hope you’re all having a great week :)  I’m so glad tomorrow is Friday!
